Once you arrive at Champlin’s, whether by ferry or on your own vessel, kick off the weekend right by sipping on our world famous mudslides dockside at Pier 76 Dock Bar while listening to live music from Lucas Neil on Friday, May 28th from 4pm-7pm.
Then beat the crowds and explore all of Block Island’s best attractions, now open for the season all weekend long! Start by treating yourself to a shopping spree on Water Street, which offers the island’s largest collection of local boutiques, art galleries, local souvenir shops, clothing stores, book shops, specialty food stores, and more.
From there, the kids will love seeing the unique variety of animals at 1661 Inn Animal Farm including camels, llamas, pygmy and fainting goats, black swans, a yak, a zebu, lemurs, red kangaroos and more! Down the road, soak up some of the most amazing views on the Island on the Mohegan Bluffs. These clay cliffs soar 200ft in the air and provide unparalleled sights of the coastline. Take the 147 steps down the bluffs to experience the beautiful rocky beach below. Pro-tip: bring your sneakers for this one!
On the other end of the island, be sure to check out North Lighthouse on Sandy Point where the ground floor serves as a history museum. This area of the island also offers some of the best walking trails along the coastline, keep your eyes peeled for seals hanging along the shoreline.
By now, you’ve most certainly worked up an appetite! , Head back to Champlin’s for fresh, local New England fare at the Galley House Waterfront Restaurant, a quick bite to eat and mudslide at Pier 76 Dock Bar, or a scoop of delicious ice cream at The Sugar Shack.
